Design Technology

At Melling (St Wilfrid) Church of England Primary School we believe that design and technology is essentially about providing opportunities for pupils to develop their capabilities, through combining their designing and making skills with knowledge and understanding in order to create high quality products.

The curriculum is organised into a two year cycle in EYFS/Key Stage 1 and a four year cycle in Key Stage 2, covering the key areas of mechanisms, structures, textiles and food. In Key Stage 2 there are two additional areas of monitor/control and electrical systems.
